Facing the severe global antibiotic resistance and the significant national demand for antibiotic substitutes, the institute is concentrated on the research, development, industrialization, and green preparation technology of multifunctional antimicrobial peptide products. The natural green products to meet market demands include aquaculture health products, natural efficacy daily chemicals, novel food preservation and freshness-keeping agents, and medical healthcare products. The key technologies for efficient genetic engineering expression and industrial production of various antimicrobial peptides are established to achieve large-scale production at low cost. This research institute will help promote the upgrading and innovative development of marine biological enterprises in Fujian and even the whole country.
