The Centre is dedicated to the industrial development of deep-sea genetic and biological resources, with a strategic focus on biomanufacturing and human health. It establishes an end-to-end innovation chain spanning resource discovery, genetic engineering, process development, and product commercialisation. By integrating artificial intelligence with industry capital and translational platforms, the Centre accelerates the development of high-value products, including deep-sea microbial formulations, extremozymes, and functional biomolecules. Its mission is to build a nationally leading deep-sea bio-industry hub that supports China’s marine strategy, strengthens technological sovereignty, and drives high-quality regional economic growth.
