The ocean underpins our global economy, with its economic activity increasing 2.5 times since 1995 and projected to reach $3 trillion by 2030. However, over the past 200 years—particularly in the last 50 years—human society has owed a significant debt to the environment, as reflected in the declining efficiency of natural capital. This is especially true for the oceans, which face severe challenges from climate change and human activities carried out by various stakeholders.

The future growth of the blue economy depends on maintaining healthy marine ecosystems and adopting sustainable practices. Achieving this goal requires close cross-sector partnerships and collaborative efforts. Therefore, promoting a nature-positive, regenerative blue economy through cross-sectoral co-design and partnerships is urgently needed from us.

In collaboration with global organizations such as Fujian Ocean Innovation Center, Xiamen University, China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development, The World Economic Forum, United Nations Global Compact, and the Asian Venture Philanthropy Network, among others, this event provides a dialogic arena for leading scientists, high-level policymakers, investors, innovators, and ocean ambassadors. Together, cross-sector participants will share insights, experiences, and best practices for co-designing and co-creating a regenerative blue economy.

海洋是全球经济的重要支柱。海洋经济总量自1995年以来增长了2.5倍，预计到2030年将达3万亿美元。然而，在过去的200年里，特别是在过去的50年里，人类因自然资本效益降低而“欠环境账”。海洋尤其如此，它正面临着气候变化和人类活动带来的严峻挑战。

本次主题边会与世界经济论坛、联合国全球契约组织和亚洲风险慈善网络等全球组织合作，为顶尖科学家、高层决策者、投资者、创新者和海洋大使提供了一个对话平台。借此机会，各界参会代表将为共同设计、共同创造可再生蓝色经济分享各自独特见解、丰富经验和最佳实践。
